When disturbed they discharge a bad-smelling fluid and
get their common name from this.
Underneath their body they ( Adults and Nymphs ) have these
stink glands. They release the fluid through narrow openings.
Their food: Juices of foliage, flowers, and fruit from
a wide variety of plants. Some also sucking the juices
out of lavae of Beetles and Caterpillars.
Their antenna is segmented and each segment has thinner extension.
Their eggs are barrel-shaped and are attached underneath leaves
in small groups. They produce two generation a year.
They measure 12mm excluding the antenna.
